Pacific PayTech ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Pouch Pay mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read it carefully. By using Pouch Pay you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identity & Contact: Full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and government-issued ID details required for Know Your Customer (KYC) verification.
  • Financial: Bank account or mobile-money references, transaction history, wallet balances, and payment records.
  • Device & Technical: Device type, operating system, IP address, unique device identifiers, and app usage logs.
  • Location: Approximate location (city/region level) to detect fraud and comply with applicable regulations. We do not collect precise GPS location without your explicit permission.
  • Communications: Customer-support messages and in-app feedback you send us.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Process transactions and maintain your wallet.
  • Verify your identity and comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and KYC requirements under Solomon Islands law.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Send transactional notifications (receipts, alerts) and, with your consent, promotional messages.
  • Improve app features and user experience through aggregated analytics.
  • Respond to customer-support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and cooperate with regulatory authorities.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Payment partners & banks: To process transactions on your behalf.
  • KYC / identity-verification providers: To fulfil regulatory requirements.
  • Cloud & infrastructure providers: Who process data under confidentiality agreements.
  • Regulatory authorities: When required by Solomon Islands law, court order, or law-enforcement request.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years after account closure to meet financial-record-keeping obligations. After that period, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

5. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and role-based access controls. No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we review our practices regularly.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data (see our Account Deletion Policy).
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time via the in-app settings or by emailing us.
  • Data portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

7. Children's Privacy

Pouch Pay is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

8. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
